Omya UK are part of the privately owned Omya Group of companies, a leading global producer of industrial minerals, predominantly fillers and pigments derived from calcium carbonate and dolomite.

In addition to Omya’s manufactured white mineral products, a comprehensive portfolio of distributed raw chemical materials is also supplied on behalf of a number of major chemical producers.

Omya UK has its origins in two separate companies: Croxton+Garry Ltd., a chemical distributor formed in 1952; and the Melbourn Whiting Company, a manufacturer of chalk products that started trading in 1946.

The company‘s major markets include paper, plastics, paint/coatings/adhesives industries as well as construction, environment, agriculture, food and pharmaceutical.

Founded in 1884 in Switzerland, Omya now has a global presence extending to more than 100 locations in over 50 countries.
